The Irish Times is “Overseas Newspaper of the Year” again

The Irish Times received the award for the “Overseas Newspaper of the Year” distributed in the United Kingdom for the second year in succession at the annual awards ceremony of the Association of Circulation Executives (ACE) in London last night (1st December). This is the fourth time in five years that the newspaper has received the award.
The award recognises the newspaper’s consistent advance in availability and circulation in England and Wales over the past 12 months. The international edition is currently available in over 6,000 retail outlets and is regularly recording an average daily sale of 3,000. The newspaper’s weekend issue which includes the award-winning “Irish Times Weekend” magazine is also regularly recording sales in excess of 5,000.
The Irish Times is Ireland’s leading chronicler of daily news and its only independent newspaper. The editorial content and page layout of the international edition is completed in Dublin and transmitted to London for origination, printing and distribution.
The newspaper is published from Monday to Saturday inclusive and has an audited circulation of 114,488 (ABC Jan – June 2009) and a readership of 364,000 (JNRS 08/09), the highest readership in the history of the newspaper.
